There's been no official word on a cancellation either, so there's still hope for fans who want to see the story go on. Ishibumi has suggested that a Season 5 is being considered by Passione, which replaced TNK as the production studio behind the anime in its fourth season. Despite ample source material and the series' still-high popularity, there's yet to be any official word on a new season. There have since been several more volumes, so there's definitely enough content for at least one more season of the anime. Season 4 of High School DxD loosely adapted the Heroic Oppai Dragon arc from Volumes 7-12 of the light novels. This fourth season coincided with the light novels ending, and there have been no new seasons for the supernatural comedy series since then. A manga adaptation also began in 2011, running until 2014 and having spinoffs of its own. The anime began in January 2012, continuing all the way thorough Season 4 in 2018. The story began as a series of light novels by Ichiei Ishibumi and Miyama-Zero, amassing over 20 volumes during its approximately decade-long run. This makes Issei the indebted underling of the prettiest girl at school, where he must now fight to survive amid the various factions. Issei wakes the next day in his room where Rias reveals that since she revived him, he is now a devil himself. Yuma Amano asks Issei on a date, where she reveals herself as a fallen angel and kills him before reviving him via the summoning card devil Rias. Unknown to him, the formerly all-girls school is almost entirely dominated by angels, fallen angels and demons, with Issei being one of the few humans around. High School DxD stars Issei Hyodo, a seemingly normal yet incredibly lecherous student at Kuoh Academy.
